Use walnuts to add sparkle to dark hair. Chop walnuts, boil it in one cup of water. Cool, strain, and pour on your hair after coloring.

Put some punch in your hair color
In oder to lighten your hair color, you can add lemon juice to it. Using half cup of cranberry juice after shampooing as a final rinse and this will give a lift to red hair and add subtle red highlights to your dark colored hair.
